About us

ConnectingPoint is a multi-ethnic, community church where people can learn more about Jesus and meet new friends. We are devoted to loving God, loving others and sharing Jesus with our family and neighbors.

On Sundays we gather on the second floor at 72 Jefferson Street in a beautiful brick mill building to celebrate all that Jesus is and has done for us. Throughout the week we scatter into Missional Communities. Each MC is an extended family showing and sharing Jesus in our neighborhoods.

ConnectingPoint Church seeks to expand God's Kingdom in the city of Marlborough and beyond. We hope to bring renewal in every sphere of life by the power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Our desire is to foster a community of love that reaches out with the historic Christian truths of the Gospel. We welcome skeptics, seekers, and those who share the church's vision to be a Gospel-oriented community of God's grace.

The earliest Spirit-filled Christians shared a common faith that cut across languages, ethnicity and continents. The words of the Apostles' Creed summarize our beliefs.

I believe in God, the Father Almighty
maker of heaven and earth.
And in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
and born of the virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died and was buried.
He descended into hell.
On the third day He rose again from the dead.
He ascended into heaven
and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty.
From thence He will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.

The words of the Apostles' Creed, along with the Nicene and Athanasian Creeds, summarize the Biblical beliefs since the earliest days of Christianity and they are the truths that we believe, teach, and confess at ConnectingPoint.

At the center of our faith is the redemptive work Jesus did for us by dying on the cross for the sins of all human beings and rising from the dead in victory over sin and death. This is called the Gospel (good news). We believe that Jesus came to save all people (John 3:16). And God freely offers his grace and forgiveness through faith in Jesus Christ.

ConnectingPoint is a multi-ethnic community with people from different backgrounds (Christian, spiritually curious, English-speaking, Portuguese-speaking, Spanish-speaking, Cantonese-speaking, Mandarin-speaking, etc.). This is a church where people are loved and feel accepted, even if you have questions and doubts. It is a place where someone will always greet you and make you feel welcomed. It is a place where you can experience community and learn more about God in your own time, at your own pace without pressure.

In our community we are shaped by the Bible's story of redemption and renewal. We believe the Bible to be the reliable, authoritative and sufficient word of God, and are therefore committed to the Scriptures with practical application to life.

  • Love God. Love others.
  • Making disciples of all backgrounds and nationalities.
  • Law & Gospel (gospel means good news). Centering our lives around the ultimate good news that is found by grace through faith in Jesus.
  • Relational. We are a community church. We love to give back to the community and be a community where you can get to know others too.
  • Bible-based. We preach from the Bible. We teach from the Bible.
  • Authentic and relevant.

Partners in the Gospel

We don't believe in walking it alone, or being theological lone rangers. We accept the Biblical truths that inspired the reformation of the Christian Church in the 16th century and led to a renewed focus on the Gospel - the good news of God's grace expressed through faith in Jesus (Ephesians 2:8). We walk together with over 6,000 other Christian congregations across the country in a church body known as the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod.  For an overview of our beliefs please click here and here.

We work with Christian churches like Mount Calvary Lutheran Church and others in the suburbs of Boston. We like start new churches too. We are also facilitating a movement of church plants and disciplemaking.
